A SuperStep LED shopfront at Aport mall

The SuperStep store at Aport mall on Kuldzhinsky Highway in Almaty is the most demanding project in this series structurally. Here KazLedPro built a full-circle LED column, a large wall screen, and a shopfront structure of fifteen separate parts working as one panel.

A shopfront of 15 sections

The most difficult solution in the project is the huge screen in the shopfront zone. The existing window is divided by mullions into 15 separate sections, and LED modules were installed section by section.

All 15 parts were assembled and configured into one system: the image is mapped across them so that visually they work as a single large screen despite the physical division of the shopfront. The screen faces the main entrance of the mall, so its content is visible on the approach to the building.

Technically this is a mapping and configuration problem: each section has its own pixel matrix, and the control system has to know which part of the overall picture goes where. An error in the mapping and instead of one frame you get fifteen unrelated crops.

An LED column clad on four sides

The entrance area holds a large column fully clad in screens on four sides. Pitch P2, total area about 18 m². Full-circle visibility: the column is noticeable from anywhere on the floor and from any direction of approach.

A 20 m² wall screen

In the entrance part of the store there is a large screen: pitch P2.5, about 20 m². The panel is mounted directly on the wall, with the sides of the structure closed by PVC panels finished in white vinyl — the screen reads as part of the wall rather than a mounted housing.

Till and footwear zone

Behind the till sits a screen of P2.5, about 5 m². On the side wall of the footwear zone run five tickers in bespoke PVC housings brought to a single appearance.

What the store got

• a shopfront turned into an advertising surface visible on the approach to the mall;
• a full-circle 18 m² LED column at P2 pitch;
• a 20 m² wall screen and a screen behind the till;
• five tickers along the footwear zone in matching housings;
• design, fabrication, installation and service by KazLedPro.
