Corner adidas LED screens at Merey

For the adidas outlet at Merey shopping centre in Almaty, KazLedPro built two corner LED screens set directly into the columns of the store. The corner format was not chosen for effect: a column stands in the flow, and a flat screen on one of its faces would work for only half of the people walking past.

Two screens in columns

Both screens are integrated into columns and assembled around the corner, so the content reads from several directions of travel at once.

• Pixel pitch — P2.5
• Total area of the two screens — about 9 m²
• Cabinets — 64 × 64 cm and 48 × 64 cm

The first screen stands right at the store entrance: it comes into view from the mall gallery and acts as a promotions display — the photos show the outlet’s discount block running on it. The second sits deeper in the floor and continues the same digital line inside the store.

Why two cabinet sizes

A column is rarely a multiple of a single cabinet size. Combining 64 × 64 and 48 × 64 cm made it possible to hit the exact height and width of each face and close the corner without cutting modules and without blank strips at the edges. This is ordinary engineering on non-standard geometry: the panel is sized to the object, not the object to a stock screen.

Why a corner screen rather than a flat one

A customer walking along the gallery sees the column from the side. At that moment a flat panel becomes a narrow line. A corner build delivers a full image from both directions — the effective area of contact with the flow doubles for the same screen area.

What the store got

• two visible points of contact with the flow — at the entrance and deeper inside;
• a P2.5 pitch: promotions and prices read from close up without visible dots;
• a screen built into the column rather than hung on it;
• fabrication, installation and service by KazLedPro in Almaty.
