In April 2022 KazLedPro installed an LED screen at Almaty International School, an international school in Almaty. A school with an English-language programme works a great deal with presentations, video and student performances, so the request was for a fine-pitch screen that children can stand very close to.
What we did
We installed an LED screen with a P2.5 pixel pitch built from 320×160 mm modules. The minimum viewer-to-screen distance is 2.5 metres: from that distance the dots are no longer distinguishable and the image looks like a large monitor. Such a pitch makes it possible to display small text, tables and software interfaces, not just video and large headings. The canvas is assembled with no seams or bezels, and the picture is single across the whole screen. Control comes from the teacher’s or the host’s computer; content changes in a minute.
Why this screen
International schools use a screen not only for celebrations but in teaching: assemblies, project presentations, student talks in English where subtitles and slides have to be readable. A coarse pitch does not work here — from close up it looks grainy. P2.5 delivers near-monitor quality while remaining a bright LED canvas that, unlike a projector, does not require the room to be darkened. The 320×160 mm modules made it possible to build the screen exactly to the size of the space allotted.
What the school got
- a fine-pitch screen for text, slides and video;
- a clear picture from 2.5 metres and beyond — for the whole hall;
- an image with no dimming, in daylight and with the lights on;
- installation and setup by KazLedPro in Almaty.
