LED fit-out for SuperStep at MEGA mall

SuperStep sells footwear and accessories from well-known brands at MEGA Almaty, one of the busiest malls in the city. KazLedPro fitted the store with LED structures that became part of the architecture rather than an addition to it: a column, wall recesses, a basketball zone, the footwear display and the till area. The video above is the client’s review of our work.

LED column at the entrance

A large column at the entrance is clad with screens on three sides — the front and both flanks.

• Pixel pitch — P2.5
• Total area — about 12 m²

The column stands in the middle of the flow rather than against a wall, so it is visible from almost anywhere in the store — and it takes up no retail floor space, because the structure was already there.

Two more screens are recessed into the walls on either side of the entrance, about 8 m² each, pitch P2.5. Recessed mounting brings the panel flush with the wall: no protruding box, no frame, no shadow along the edge.

Basketball zone — 60 metres of ticker

The centrepiece of the project is the basketball zone, framed entirely by a long LED ticker.

• Total length — about 60 m
• Height — 25 cm
• Pixel pitch — P2.6

Rigid PVC housings were made for the structure, with the underside finished in black vinyl: without it, a light-coloured housing would catch the light and the line would look dirty from below.

Till area

A separate screen sits behind the till: pitch P2.5, about 6 m². Above it runs a U-shaped ticker that follows the geometry of the till block: pitch P2.6, 12 m wide, 25 cm high.

Footwear zone — a 35-metre angled ticker

Another non-standard solution is a long angled ticker that follows the geometry of the footwear zone: about 35 m wide, pitch P2.6. The angled form lets the line follow the architecture of the zone without breaking at the corners.

Project summary

A 12 m² column + two 8 m² screens + a 6 m² screen behind the till + 60 m of ticker in the basketball zone + 12 m of U-shaped ticker above the till + 35 m of angled ticker in the footwear zone.

Why an LED screen suited this store

In footwear retail a screen works like a salesperson: it shows the product in motion and sets the mood of the store before the customer even walks in. Unlike television panels, an LED canvas is assembled to any size and proportion — around a column, into a recess, around a corner, over a till block — it has no bezels or seams, and it does not glare under mall ceiling lighting. Content changes from a computer in a minute: a new collection, a promotion, an announcement — with no printing involved.
