In June 2023 KazLedPro completed a project for the Moll Aport shopping and entertainment centre in Almaty — an LED screen with a total area of 64 square metres and a P3 pixel pitch. For a shopping centre, a large screen is an advertising space, a wayfinding tool and a part of the atmosphere all at once: it works on the flow of visitors from morning until closing.
What we did
We supplied and installed an LED screen of 64 m² with a P3 pixel pitch. For this pitch the comfortable viewing distance starts at about 3 metres, so the picture is sharp both for a visitor walking past and for someone looking from a distance. The screen is assembled into a single canvas with no frames or seams: a tenant’s advertising clip, a promotion announcement or a holiday title fills the entire surface. Content is planned by schedule and changed in a minute from the shopping centre management’s computer.
Why this screen
In a shopping centre the viewer may be two metres from the screen or thirty. The P3 pitch covers both scenarios: no dots are visible up close, and 64 m² is enough for the screen to read from a distance and not get lost among the shop signs. The brightness of an LED canvas is designed for bright spaces with shop windows and general lighting — the screen does not fade during the day as projection solutions tend to. A single large canvas costs more than several panels, but it is exactly what produces the effect advertisers pay for.
