LED screen for Smart Point

In early September 2021 KazLedPro installed an LED screen at Smart Point in Almaty. The client needed a large screen for events and presentations — one the whole room could see, where preparing for an event comes down to loading a file. The video above shows the screen in operation.

What we did

We installed an LED screen built from 320×160 mm modules. The minimum viewing distance is 4 metres: this is the pitch for rooms where the audience sits some way from the stage and watches presentations, video and live feeds. The canvas is assembled without seams and shows a single image across the whole screen, so a slide is not cut up by frames as it would be on a video wall of televisions. Control is from a computer, and changing the content takes a minute.

Why this screen

A venue that hosts different formats one after another — a lecture, a presentation, an evening event — needs a screen that works equally well in bright light and in semi-darkness. An LED canvas needs no blackout and holds its contrast with the chandeliers on, while a pitch matched to a 4-metre distance gives the detail required without paying extra for a density that is no longer visible at that range. The 320×160 mm module is a standard format: it lets the screen be built to the required stage width in steps of 32 cm across and 16 cm in height.
