In May 2019 KazLedPro installed an LED screen for the Royal Petrol filling station chain in Almaty. At a filling station a screen solves tasks that neither a school nor a restaurant has: a driver spends only a few minutes on the forecourt, and in that time you have to show prices, fuel promotions, offers from the shop and café, and partner advertising.
What we did
We installed an LED screen built from 320×160 mm modules. The minimum viewing distance is 4 metres: that is roughly how far the customer stands from the screen at the pump or sits in the car, and at that distance the picture looks solid, with no visible dots. The screen is assembled into a single canvas showing an alternating mix of video clips and static price slides; content is updated from a computer in a few minutes — with no new banners to print every time prices change.
Why this screen
At a filling station the viewer almost never walks right up to the screen, so a fine and expensive pitch is not needed here — a distance from 4 metres covers the real viewing scenario. Unlike lightboxes and printed posters, an LED screen shows moving images that catch the eye and lets offers be changed several times a day if needed. For a station chain it is also a way to keep a single visual style across every site.
What the client got
- fast updates to prices and promotions without a print shop;
- an advertising space for its own services and for partners;
- a striking design element that sets the station apart from its neighbours;
- installation and setup by KazLedPro in Almaty.
