Two LED screens for Nur-Mubarak University

The Nur-Mubarak Egyptian University of Islamic Culture at 73 Al-Farabi Avenue in Almaty is a university that holds lectures, conferences, ceremonial gatherings and meetings with guests from many countries every week. In 2022 the university came to us with the task of replacing the projector and banners on the assembly hall stage with a modern LED screen, and of equipping a second hall.

What we did

Our team supplied and installed two LED screens.

The screen on the assembly hall stage. A wide canvas spanning the full width of the stage on its own steel structure: the frame was welded and aligned on site, and the screen was built from 320×160 mm modules with a comfortable viewing distance from 3 metres — the front row sees a crisp picture with no grain, and any text is legible from the back rows. It carries presentations, broadcasts, video clips and backdrops for ceremonial events.

The screen in the small hall. A 256×256 mm cabinet screen for lectures, thesis defences and working meetings, with a viewing distance from 4 metres. It is driven from one computer, starts up in a minute and needs no dimming of the hall — the picture stays bright with the lights on.

How the installation went

The work went ahead without interrupting classes: the frame and electrics in the first days, hanging the modules and cabling in a single working day, then configuring the control system and training the university staff. Both screens were handed over with configuration files, playlists and instructions so that the university’s own staff can operate them.

What the university got

• one picture for the whole hall instead of a dim projector and printed banners;
• a screen visible in daylight and with the chandeliers on;
• a fast change of content for each event — from a lecture to a ceremonial gathering;
