LED screen at Hotel Kazakhstan

In July 2021 KazLedPro installed an LED screen for Hotel Kazakhstan in Almaty — one of the city’s most recognisable high-rises. A hotel of this level hosts conferences, banquets, presentations and business meetings, and a large screen is a working tool it needs almost every day.

What we did

We installed an LED screen with a P4 pixel pitch. For this pitch the comfortable viewing distance starts at about 4 metres — from the front rows the image already reads as a whole, with no visible dots, while from the back seats presentation text stays legible. The canvas is single, with no bezels or seams, so slides, video clips, the logos of organising companies and a camera feed of the speaker all look equally correct on it. The screen starts up in a minute and is driven from one computer: each event gets its own set of material loaded.

Why this screen

In hotel halls the lights are almost never turned all the way down during an event: guests work with documents and waiters serve the tables. A projector fades in these conditions, while an LED screen keeps its contrast under any lighting. A P4 pitch is a sensible choice for a hall where the viewer is a few metres from the screen: it delivers a clear picture at that distance and costs noticeably less than fine-pitch solutions whose advantage would not be visible here.
