LED screen at Mukan Tulebayev Children's Music School No. 5

Mukan Tulebayev Children’s Music School No. 5 in Almaty is a school where concerts are not a once-a-year celebration but part of the curriculum: academic evenings, department recitals, competitions and graduations. In early July 2020 KazLedPro installed an LED screen in the school hall so that every performance would have a visual backdrop and the audience could see the young performer in close-up.

What we did

We installed an indoor LED screen built from 256×256 mm modules. The modules assemble into an even canvas with precise joints, and on stage it reads as a single surface — without bezels that would break the frame. The minimum distance from viewer to screen is 4 metres, so parents in the front rows see a clean picture, while from the depth of the hall the captions with the pupil’s name, the title of the piece and the composer read clearly. The screen shows the concert programme, a video backdrop for each number, photo and video material for anniversary evenings, and a camera feed.

Why this particular screen

A music school is not a cinema; here the picture must not compete with the music. A screen designed for a distance from 4 metres gives a calm, even image without grain that works as a backdrop and does not distract from the performer. July is the most sensible time to install in a school: it is the holidays, the hall is free, and the stage is ready by September. Modular assembly also simplifies servicing: if necessary a single module is replaced rather than the whole canvas dismantled.
