LED screen at Astana Plaza - banquet hall

In March 2020 KazLedPro installed an LED screen in the Astana Plaza banquet hall in Almaty. A banquet hall lives on weddings, anniversaries and corporate parties, and almost every such event needs a large picture: the couple’s photo story, a video greeting, a camera feed so that guests at the far tables can see what is happening on stage.

What we did

We installed an LED screen built from 320×160 mm modules. The minimum distance from viewer to screen is 4 metres: the tables closest to the stage see a smooth image with no visible grain, while guests deeper in the hall see a large, bright picture. The canvas is continuous, without the joints and bezels of tiled television panels, so both full-screen video and background graphics for the decor look good on it. Control is from a single laptop; the host or the DJ switches content during the evening.

Why this particular screen

In a banquet hall the lights are never fully off — guests are eating, talking, taking photos. A projector gives a washed-out picture in these conditions; an LED screen does not, because its brightness does not depend on the lighting in the room. The 4-metre viewing distance was chosen to match the distance from the front tables to the stage, and the 320×160 mm modules made it possible to build the canvas exactly to the space available.

What the hall received

• a bright screen that works under party lighting and stage effects;
• photos, video and a live feed for guests at any distance from the stage;
• fast switching of the decor between events — even several events in one day;
• an extra argument for clients choosing a venue for their banquet.
