Flexible LED screens for Biday Cinema

For the Kinopark Biday cinema at FORUM mall in Almaty, KazLedPro built two flexible LED screens. Neither is rectangular: each follows the geometry of its own wall, and each got a metal frame designed and fabricated for it.

Box-office screen — 12 m²

A large flexible screen runs along the upper wall of the box-office area.

The distinctive part is the complex geometry: the screen follows the curves of the wall and forms one smooth LED surface with no standard rectangular shape. An individual metal frame was fabricated for it, calculated around the wall geometry and the shape of the flexible module.

The panel runs right up to the ceiling, so the structure reads as part of the architecture rather than a screen hung on a wall. It shows the screening schedule, trailers and advertising.

Coffee-area screen — 9 m²

The second flexible screen is in the coffee part of the cinema.

The shape here is even more demanding: the panel starts flat and then curves smoothly through a half-circle, following the geometry of the space. This one also got a dedicated frame that sets the radius and holds the curve.

Why a flexible module rather than cabinets

A cabinet is a rigid frame. A curve assembled from cabinets becomes a polygon: facets appear along a smooth radius and the image breaks at the joints. A flexible module follows the arc as a whole, so the picture runs through the bend without interruption.

The trade-off is the frame: with a flexible screen the radius is set by the metalwork, not by the panel. An error in the frame and the module either will not sit flat or will ripple.
