Dubai Municipality Headquarters

In September 2023 KazLedPro supplied and installed an outdoor LED screen for the Dubai Municipality Headquarters — the municipality building of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. Site address: Dubai Municipality Headquarters, Building 20, Block A, P.O. Box 67, Dubai, UAE. This is one of our projects abroad: the calculations, the equipment and the installation were all handled by the team from Almaty.

What we did

We installed an outdoor LED screen of 36 square metres with a P3 pixel pitch. The screen is of outdoor design: the modules are protected against dust and moisture, and the brightness reserve is enough to keep the image contrasty in direct sunlight — the main requirement in Dubai. For an outdoor screen, P3 counts as a fine pitch: a comfortable viewing distance starts at just 3 metres, so the screen reads equally well for a pedestrian at the entrance and from several dozen metres away. The canvas carries the municipality’s information messages, announcements for visitors, videos and graphics.

Why this screen

The municipality building is a place with heavy foot traffic passing close to the screen. A coarse outdoor pitch would show noticeable grain from a couple of metres, so P3 was chosen. The outdoor design is essential: the heat, dust and sun of Dubai would quickly disable an indoor screen, and its brightness would simply not be enough outdoors. An area of 36 m² gives a canvas that is visible from a distance yet still readable close up.
