Transparent mesh screen P3.91 × 7.82: 65 % of the light passes straight through. It is mounted on glazing and façades where a solid screen would turn a window into a wall. Pixel density — 32 768 dots/m², brightness 2000–4500 cd/m2.

Where it is used

• glazing of shopping and business centres — the screen blocks neither the daylight nor the view
• atriums and passageways where a solid screen would look like a blank wall
• façades with a wind-load limit: the structure lets air through
• shop windows and media installations viewed from both sides

Viewing distance

The minimum comfortable distance is about 4 m, and the main viewing zone is 4–12 m. The rule of thumb is simple: the distance in metres roughly equals the pixel pitch in millimetres. Closer than that the image breaks up into dots; further away the extra detail is wasted and a coarser pitch is the better buy.

Construction and servicing

The screen is assembled from 1000×1000 mm cabinets. Weight — 7.5 kg (cabinet 1000×1000 mm). Each cabinet arrives fully assembled from the factory — the modules, power supplies and receiving card are already inside, and on site the cabinets are simply joined together.

Cabinets of 1000×1000 and 1000×500 mm. The screen width is a multiple of 1000 mm and the height a multiple of 500 mm.

Ingress protection — IP33: this is splash protection, not protection from a downpour. Such a screen goes behind glazing, under a canopy or inside the façade envelope — open installation without cover is agreed separately. Operating temperature −20…+60 °C.

The supporting frame is included in the price per m² — it does not appear as a separate line in the quotation.

Novastar receiving cards, power supplies and the supporting frame are included in the price per m².

The screen is mounted horizontally only: rotating the cabinets by 90° is not supported by the design.

Power and load

Peak draw is 800 W/m² (a white field at full brightness); with real content it is about 240 W/m². For a 6×3 m screen (18 m²) that means roughly 14.4 kW at peak and 4.3 kW in normal use. Power supply 100V~240V, 50–60 Hz. In the technical specification we size the power lines by the peak rather than the average — otherwise the breaker trips on a white frame.

What the delivery includes

• fully assembled cabinets — the modules, power supplies and receiving cards are already installed;
• a video processor — chosen for the screen resolution so that there are enough ports with headroom to spare;
• the supporting steel structure (included in the price per m²);
• installation, commissioning and brightness tuning for the site;
• operator training and handover of the firmware files;
• warranty and service — a stock of modules and power supplies is held in Almaty.
