An outdoor LED screen for Oi-Qaragai

For the Oi-Qaragai mountain resort, KazLedPro installed an outdoor LED screen of P3, about 6 m². The project is small in area but telling in purpose: this is not advertising but a working information board in the open air.

The screen is fixed to the wall of a building next to the ticket area — right in the main flow of guests. Despite its compact size, its position puts it in the field of view of everyone approaching the ticket desk.

What is on the screen

Guests see current information:

• the price of coffee and snacks;
• horse riding;
• other services and offers of the resort.

The P3 pitch was chosen for exactly this kind of content: a menu and a price list are text and figures, not pictures. Small type falls apart at a coarse pitch, so density matters more than area here. Large, crisp typesetting lets a guest read prices on the move without walking right up.

Why an outdoor build is mandatory

The screen works outdoors all year: rain, snow, temperature swings, direct sun. An outdoor build means protection of the modules from moisture and dust, plus brightness headroom. An indoor screen taken outside looks grey in daylight and fails after the first spell of bad weather.

Why a screen beats a printed menu

Prices and services change with the season, and some items change by the day. A printed menu has to be remade and rehung for every change. A screen updates from the office in a minute, and out of season it can show something else — announcements, the weather, hire rules.
