LED screen for a restaurant in Semey

The banquet hall of a restaurant in Semipalatinsk (the city is now called Semey) is a venue for weddings, anniversaries and corporate evenings in eastern Kazakhstan. In early April 2019 the KazLedPro team travelled from Almaty and installed an LED screen here: the client needed a video backdrop for the stage that is visible from every table and does not wash out when the hall lights are switched on in full.

What we did

We installed an indoor LED screen built from 320×160 mm modules — a single seamless canvas beside the hall stage. The minimum viewing distance is 4 metres, so the picture is already clean from the nearest tables, while names and captions on the slides remain readable from the far end of the hall. The screen shows slide shows and video greetings, clips for performances and a live feed of the stage, so guests at distant tables see the host and the newlyweds in close-up. We showed the restaurant staff how to run content from a computer — the screen is operated in-house.

Why this screen

Lighting in a banquet hall changes constantly — from full light during dinner to coloured light during the dancing — and a projector loses out in these conditions: the picture fades as soon as the chandeliers come on. An LED screen is equally bright in any scenario. The 320×160 mm module format matched the width of the stage, and the 4-metre distance suits a hall where guests sit at tables rather than stand next to the screen. The project was carried out on site away from base — a normal working format for KazLedPro in the regions: we install screens not only in Almaty but in other cities of Kazakhstan as well.
