LED screen at Yassawi University, Turkestan

Khoja Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University in Turkestan is a large university in southern Kazakhstan with a heavy flow of students, guests and official delegations. In early March 2021 KazLedPro installed an LED screen for the university: it needed a modern surface for broadcasts, presentations and ceremonial events that works without dimming the lights and stays visible from the back rows. What we did

We installed an LED screen with a P4.81 pixel pitch, assembled from 500×1000 mm cabinets. The minimum viewer-to-screen distance is 4 metres: from that distance the picture reads as a whole, and presentation text and faces in a broadcast are legible from any seat. A 500×1000 mm cabinet build gives a flat plane and a rigid structure; the canvas has no seams and the image is driven from one computer.

The screen carries presentations for lectures and conferences, feeds from the hall cameras, university video clips, greetings and backdrops for ceremonial gatherings.

Why this screen

A P4.81 pitch suits halls where the viewer is at medium range: nobody sits closer than 4 metres to the screen, and from the back rows the difference against a finer pitch is no longer visible, while the saving across the area is significant. The 500×1000 mm cabinets are convenient during installation: they assemble quickly into a canvas of the required size, come off easily for servicing and hold their geometry — the picture does not break at the joints.
