LED screen at the House of Culture in Aksay

In January 2021 KazLedPro installed an LED screen at the House of Culture in the town of Aksay. The House of Culture is the town’s main stage: concerts, ceremonial gatherings, children’s plays, competitions and end-of-year events. The client needed a large stage screen that would replace painted backdrops and become the basis for the decor of any programme.

What we did

We installed an LED screen of 62 square metres, assembled from 500×1000 mm cabinets. The minimum distance from viewer to screen is 4 metres: the front rows of the stalls see a solid picture with no grain, while from the back rows any text reads clearly. Cabinet construction means ready-made metal sections that quickly join into an even canvas; if necessary a single cabinet can be removed for servicing without dismantling the whole screen. The screen runs video backdrops for the acts, captions, a camera feed and clips for public holidays.

Why this particular screen

An area of 62 m² is a screen on the scale of the whole stage: it works as scenery, not as a “television in the corner”. In a concert hall the audience does not sit closer than a few metres from the stage, so a viewing distance from 4 metres is optimal here: the image is crisp from any seat and the cost per square metre is lower than for fine-pitch screens. The brightness of an LED canvas is sufficient under stage lighting, which a projector in such a hall cannot deliver.
