LED screen at the Academy of Logistics and Transport

The Academy of Logistics and Transport is a transport university in Almaty whose hall serves both as a lecture theatre and as a venue for conferences, freshman ceremonies and meetings with employers. In early March 2022 KazLedPro supplied and installed an LED screen and a stage lighting set here: the academy needed a stage that does not have to be darkened to show a presentation and that can handle the concert format of student events.

What we did

The screen. An indoor LED screen built from 320×160 mm modules assembled into a single canvas. The minimum distance from viewer to screen is 4 metres: the front row no longer resolves individual pixels, while tables and small slide text read from the back seats. The screen carries lectures and presentations, live camera feeds, videos about the university and background graphics for ceremonies.

Stage lighting. A set of stage lighting fixtures switched on for concerts, festivals and gala evenings. By day a formal lecture hall, by evening a concert venue — with no rearranging and no hiring of lighting for each event.

Why this screen

The 320×160 mm module is the standard format for halls of medium and large depth: it produces an even canvas of the required width and a reasonable price per square metre where the viewer sits no closer than 4 metres. There is no point in a finer pitch in such a hall — the difference is invisible from the seats and the extra cost is substantial. The screen and the stage lighting are independent systems, so an ordinary lecture needs no lighting technician.
