LED screen at Karaganda Airport

Karaganda Airport is the air gateway of the region, and departing passengers, those meeting them and those seeing them off pass through its hall every day. In early October 2020 KazLedPro installed an LED screen in the airport hall: the client needed a surface that both informs passengers and works as an advertising medium in the busiest spot in the building. What we did

We installed an indoor LED screen from 256×256 mm modules. The minimum distance from viewer to screen is 4 metres: from there the picture is perceived as whole, with no visible dots, and that is exactly the distance at which people in the hall stand — at the counters, in the security queue, in the waiting area. The screen is assembled into a single seamless canvas, the image is controlled from a computer, and videos and announcements change in a minute.

The screen carries advertising, welcome messages for delegations, airport announcements and information videos — the airport’s own staff decide what to show and when.

Why this screen

An airport hall is a large space with high ceilings, glazing and daylight. Televisions get lost here, and projection is impossible in principle. An LED screen is visible from the other end of the hall under any lighting, and the 256×256 mm module made it possible to build a canvas of the right proportions for the specific wall. The 4-metre distance is not a limitation here: passengers simply do not come any closer to the screen.
